The Food Talk and Tour at Wheatsville Co-op this past Sunday was a great success! This event was years in the making as I had been wanting to have an event where I could connect my patients to local resources in town to find good food and products.
We got a free tour lead by Store Director Tanya and Owner and Outreach Director Lindsey who gave us history about Wheatsville, explained what a co-op is, and how Wheatsville is different from standard Grocery stores like HEB, Randalls and Whole Foods. We received a canvas Wheatsville bag along with other Wheatsville swag and a $5 off coupon. We also got to sample some of my favorite products like locally pressed juices from Stoke and Wheatsville's house made popcorn tofu.

We spent the last part of the event customized to the needs of the participants. I was excited about being able to make recommendations, show exactly which items to get at Wheatsville in regards to what was going on with their health and their dietary needs, and have it focused on seasonal, local and/or organic.
This is what holistic wellness is about: Having a provider know you through body, mind and spirit and use that information to be able to customize treatment methods that work for you and your body as an individual!
