Year in Review 2024...What Can We Learn from the Events of the Past Year into 2025?

The end of the year is a nice time to self-reflect on 2024 events as to what the universe presented to us, what life lessons we learned.

Thinking back on 2024, the beginning of the year brought about busy days with work along with juggling family and self obligations. In the spring, an event occurred that made me question whether or not I was in an ideal situation for myself professionally and personally. At the time, I sensed that I should likely get out of that situation. Instead of leaving, I chose to maintain status quo as it was an easy course.

Mid year into the fall, I had an opportunity to do a cleanse under the guidance and care from my friend Madison, a skillful Ayurvedic doctor, who helped me transition with the change of season from summer to fall.

The cleanse not only helped me with the seasonal shift but it also allowed me time to realize my mind and body were still upset about the event that occurred in the Spring along with trying to process big transitions both of my kids were going through with starting new schools.

Having time to process my thoughts and emotions of these major life events (which at the time didn't seem big and I just carried on day to day as I normally would) made me realize how I was in the habit of neglecting my needs emotionally, spiritually, and mentally on a day to day by getting caught up in the busyness of each day without taking time out to process.

When I suppressed these emotions, they would come up throughout the year as stomach upset, over eating, skin irritation and inflammation, weight gain, anger, and irritability. And this is often times how dis-ease starts.

The cleanse lead to me realizing it was time to quit my job and move forward with pursuing my passion for helping people holistically: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. But first, I had to make sure to help myself balance these areas. Madison guided me through a cleanse with diet to detoxify what I had been holding in along with body work to allow the skin and internal organs to let go.

It was an amazing experience to see how stressors affected my SELF from earlier in the year to later then transform that into a healing process through the cleanse.

After the cleanse, my skin continues to heal, weight is in better balance, emotions are more balanced and I am less irritable on a day to day. The healing process also made way for me to say goodbye to the former practice at Hill Family Clinic to move forward with pursing my work as an individual provider.

October 21, 2024 was my first day starting my own practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner where I am able to use my skillset more of Functional Medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, Allergy and Immunology, Gut Health, Hormonal balancing, reducing inflammation, and improving energy levels. It has been scary and exciting at the same time doing something I am passionate about but having risk of not being seen, not being profitable, etc but overall exciting to see what the universe brings my way in being able to help myself and others.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work with people in helping them gain balance in body, mind, and spirit. Thank you to those who I have had the opportunity to work with and followed me to continue that work. Thank you to those who are newly seeing me to see what work we can do to help you find your balance. And for those who haven't seen me in a while, may we see each other soon! I appreciate you all entrusting me with your health needs!!

Let's continue working together in finding health balance for ourselves and then help others when we can. May your 2025 bring you peace and joy with minimal suffering.

Check out the events section of my website for upcoming events to help ring in the new year with self care.

I am co-hosting a couple of workshops with the wonderful Wakelyn Malitz, LPC who is a licensed counselor who specializes in somatic movement and movement for healing. It is a two part series Women's Wellness Workshops to discuss stress and burnout, how it affects our health and what we can do to prevent disease from stress.

Hope you can join!
